![]() ![]() he added a quest system but sadly removed skill progression. now he changed it again from DirectX to Vulkan. I am not really sure if I maybe would have enjoyed the full game with all the changes it entailed, but who knows. Wollay is obsessed with Cube World, here's why: he changed his self-made voxel engine from 32bit to 64bit. My group I used to play during alpha also lost interest. ![]() hes trying to make money off of Wollays work. I liked the alpha version but since it took so long to finally get a proper release, I never touched the full game. Well from the way it looks right now, CubeWorld is dead, im not very sad though, since the modders have. It also has a completely new engine, with new features and so on. I know Wollay wants to do it right and I believe strongly in the potential for fun and success. He is apparently working on a new version of Cube World, titled "Omega", which is more in spirit with the old alpha version. Cube World news A lot of people are frustrated with how things have gone regarding this game and I understand it, but I want to be a bastion of positive anticipation. ![]() Yeah, so, as Wollay has done before, he disappeared without a trace and just now, roughly an hour ago, posted a new trailer on his youtube channel. Any critique is just getting blasted, and that's not fair, nor is it healthy to the game.Remember Cube World? The game that completely exploded during it's pre alpha release, with the developer often disappearing for months and years, only to randomly reappear, posting stuff, and then disappearing again? The game that then releases and, ahem, many people were not happy with the end product? That Cube World? And it's becoming quite clear, that critique here is turning to the same thing. The subreddit, at times, is nothing but a shouting match, or a slew of memes, barring two or three thoughtful, beautifully worded posts that sadly we don't even know if Wollay saw. Twitter is useless because the legions of defenders there that want no opinion other than 100% positive rainbow sparkle land comments have wrapped up Wollay in a thermal blanket to keep him oblivious there. This could all be fixed if there was a line of dialogue. The root cause of this is lack of developer communication, I'm truly sad to say that. Time after time, we're basically ♥♥♥♥ upon, called haters, lumped in with the children who threw temper tantrums and made idiotic statements to Wollay personally on his discord/twitter, or (And this is my personal favorite one) we're told that we just "don't understand" the game and that we have to "play it like this". The game that then releases and, ahem, many people were not happy with the end product That Cube World Yeah, so, as Wollay has done before, he disappeared. Cube World news A lot of people are frustrated with how things have gone regarding this game and I understand it, but I want to be a bastion of positive anticipation. I and many others like Sairek have been calm, patient, and tried to convey our suggestions/thoughts/critiques in manners that would be, what we feel, helpful to the development of a game that we enjoy. A lot of these issues and people's loudness would die down if Wollay or Pixxie would at least SPEAK on the matter. They also, at the very least, do some kind of community managing. Literally 99% of every other developers I've seen want feedback on their games. Giving any kind of critique in any manner is seen as attacking, and it's getting old. The entire steam forums have become this, unfortunately. The game is literally being coddled and smothered to death at the most critical point in time where it needs to be criticized the most, and time is running out. This behavior is self destructive for the overall help of the game. We just want the game to be the best it can be. Wollay replied to several people through e-mail, confirming he has been working on a new/better version of his program Plasma. We don't want the game to get bad reviews. ![]() People who throwing feedback and critique at the game only want to help the game. The bandwagon/mob mentality going on and hardcore defending of the game is only going to get worse on the 30th at this rate. I have yet to see this tbh, from what I have seen the majority of the people on the steam discussions, at least yesterday, were against the game's current state and so am I considering the distinct lack of just about everything. Wollay on twitter(): Currently changing and adding a lot of stuff in Cube World to improve exploration and questing.
